Sarge, the golf
bear and
Myfanwy represent my paternal grandparents.
Victor Mills from Cornwall
and Margaret Trott from Splott, Cardiff, Wales.
Grandpa was an avid golfer and Nan was a campaigner for political
parties.
They both enjoyed their annual cruise to tropical climes.

The geranium
(pelargonium) bear and peanut
bears
are for my maternal grandparents.
Kathleen Appleyard from
Derbyshire and Cyril Ward from
Yorkshire.
We had great Boxing Day parties at their house.
Nan was never far away from her knitting or sewing, gardening or
cooking.
Granddad grew magnificent vegetables
and had his dog "Bob" and then "Shep" with him at
all times.

The
Father's Day bear is for my father-in-law, Frank,
who was always fixing something.
Nettie,
the tulip bear, represents my
mother-in-law Mike.
She must have been pleased to see Spring
after a long, cold winter in northern Ontario.
Muriel
Wall (also known as Mike) and Frank LeClair from Sault Ste. Marie,
Ontario.
Mike was known for her racing in the Powder Puff Derbies.
She was the daughter of Ned Wall, a policeman from County Cork,
Ireland,
and Eva Lauzon from Quebec.
She raised 7 wonderful children - (this input from Patrick!).
Frank was an outdoorsman.
In his younger days he was a muleteer
and then worked for the Algoma Central Railway.
Many years ago he rescued an orphan bear cub and took it home to his
children.
It was cared for in their backyard until it grew too big...
and was then adopted by a zoo.
